The Youth Festival of Szeged was great! It’s a 3-days festival, but less popular and less crowded than the others of Hungary. That’s why it’s nicer. People just seem..normal. And the semi-famous bands that play are very funny! It’s kept on the bank of the Tisza in an area with swimming pools that can be used during the festival too. And a lot of fang to immerse in, lol. Plus Szeged is a loveable city (with my grandma living there). The people are kind and ready to help, the buildings are well-conserved and it is all very tranquil and civilised with a big cultural life. The contemporary ballet group and the open-air summer theatre are famous, for example. But also the 24h Milk Bar Boci should be famous. Nothig nicer than eating szilvásgombóc (plum dumplings) at 3am!
We’ve been to the concerts of some pretty nice bands like Kistehén Tánczenekar (Little Cow Music Band) or Popartmarket (with a teacher from ELTE playing the saxophone and the flute. A young, handsome, attractive drama teacher.yumyum. Too bad he plays with his eyes closed and does not seem to pay attention to the public.) or Pál Utcai Fiúk.
Yup, I am easily attracted by the names of the bands:p.
Then Yesterday right after coming back to Budapest I met a friend, Bori and we went to see a film I had long wanted to see, ’Comme une ange’. It’s a very human film with a lot of belcanto. Afterwards we picked up our sleeping bags and went to Szentendre (a jewel-boksz like small city near Budapest) to a performace and VJ festival. It was kept in an old mill and I felt quite good depsite the fever and soar throat&ears that got always worse. (the day before a man circumcised himself during his long and boring performance and pulled the cut-off piece of skin on the finger of his preganant wife wearing a wedding dress)The lots of young alternative people convinced a man to keep his restaurant open so at half past three at night we could go and drink tea with friends and friends of friends (ate a gulyás in four.with one spoon. I guess now they too have fever and sore throat). Met some Italians too. Rome has an incredible underground life…one of them, a girl asked me to partecipate in her production-i had to translate her stories into Hungarian. I get really shy when someone puts a microphone in my hands. But made it!.Once again I did not smoke weed. I think everyone else did. Came home at 6 o’clock and spent today drinking hot tea and reading The elective affinities (?) of Goethe. Throat still sore. Fever gone.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm…found some Slovenian chocolate left. Mmmmm. Chocolate with chili is great! Also nougat. Also opened boxs of Celebrations found in the middle of the mess on table. Keyboard covered by chocolate. It’s been a while I haven’t eaten chocolate. Not eating too many sweets helps controlling passions. Really. Um. F read it in Cosmopolitan at the train station of Trieste, bored to hell when we browsed all the stupid magazines.
Not the passion for sweets. Mmmm. NO MAN can compete with chocolate. Only clothes and earrings.:)
